Entre as atividades intelectuais que comp\u00f5e esta estrutura est\u00e1 a descri\u00e7\u00e3o arquiv\u00edstica, respons\u00e1vel por apresentar o acervo a partir da cria\u00e7\u00e3o de representa\u00e7\u00f5es que evidenciem seu contexto e conte\u00fado, resultando em instrumentos de pesquisa. A presente pesquisa tem por objetivo analisar a forma de desenvolvimento do instrumento de pesquisa denominado guia nos arquivos do Estado de Santa Catarina registrados no Cadastro Nacional de Entidades Custodiadoras de Acervos Arquiv\u00edsticos, do Conselho Nacional de Arquivos (CONARQ). Relata a import\u00e2ncia e o formato de diferentes instrumentos de pesquisa. Cria um checklist contendo informa\u00e7\u00f5es b\u00e1sicas a constar em um instrumento de pesquisa guia, a partir da literatura analisada. O corpus da pesquisa \u00e9 formado por seis arquivos que possu\u00edam o instrumento de pesquisa guia ou informa\u00e7\u00f5es em s\u00edtio institucional que correspondesse ao que foi analisado.
